Title theme

Riders on the Storm in Need for Speed Underground 2

The menu theme is the Fredwreck remix, not the 1971 Doors recording by itself. The game and the later single are different dates.

Which recording the game uses

Wikipedia's song article says the Fredwreck remix of The Doors' 1971 Riders on the Storm, featuring Snoop Dogg, was used as the title music for Need for Speed Underground 2. The NFS soundtrack page lists that same remix in the menu category.

I am not treating the 1971 original and the remix as the same file. The game credit is the remix.

Length, scene and the later single

The NFS wiki lists the menu cut at 6:14 on a release it calls Need for Speed Underground 2 Exclusive. That length is one source. I am not copying it into a second column as if a label confirmed it.

PCGamingWiki says the main menu hardcodes the track on every start. It is not a racing-only song.

A single of the remix was issued in 2007. The game shipped in 2004. I keep both years. The single date is not the game date.

Dates I refused to merge.

The game theme is a particular remix

The menu theme is identified as the Fredwreck remix credited to Snoop Dogg featuring The Doors. That distinction matters when searching licensed music services: the original Doors recording and a remix built around it are separate recordings. A result carrying only the song title does not prove it is the Underground 2 version. The game’s menu association is also narrower than a claim that every race begins with the same recording. PCGamingWiki documents the repeated main-menu selection, while the soundtrack list separates menu and racing tracks. I link to the credits and describe the version rather than hosting the recording or reproducing lyrics. Duration differences between uploads should be kept as edition differences unless the source identifies the exact recording.
